Resumes

Create, structure, and edit as many resumes as you need.

A resume is built from sections (Experience, Education, Skills, and 19 other real section types) which in turn contain entries. An entry can be fully custom, or linked back to a fact in your Career Profile — in which case only the fields you explicitly override are stored on the resume, and everything else is pulled live from your Career Profile at render time. You can mark one resume as your "master" copy; tailored copies (created by the AI Job Workspace flow) reference the resume they were cloned from.

When you'd use this

Keeping one up-to-date "master" resume as your source of truth.
Maintaining several resumes for different roles or industries without re-entering your work history each time.
Reordering, hiding, or removing whole sections for a specific application without deleting the underlying content.
Making a quick wording tweak directly on the live preview instead of hunting through a side panel.

How it works

    Create a resume

    From "My Resumes," click "+ New resume." Pick a template from the gallery (badges show Premium / ATS-safe / Two-column). The new resume is pre-filled with a realistic example structure so you're editing, not starting from a blank page.

    Manage sections

    In the editor's left panel, drag sections to reorder them, click the eye icon to hide a section from the rendered resume without deleting it, or use the trash icon to remove one. Add a new section via the type dropdown + "Section" button.

    Add and edit entries

    Inside a section, add an entry and fill in the entry editor modal. If the entry is linked to a Career Profile fact, only the fields you change here become overrides — unedited fields keep following your Career Profile automatically.

    Edit directly on the preview

    Click straight into the title, section headings, paragraphs, individual bullets, or skill chips in the live preview — edits save on blur. Adding, removing, or reordering bullets themselves is panel-only, by design, since there's no safe way to do that with a text-cursor gesture.

    Undo, redo, and autosave

    The editor toolbar has Undo/Redo buttons, and a "Saving…" / "Saved" indicator confirms your changes are persisted as you work.

    Duplicate or delete

    From the resumes list, use the "…" menu on any resume card to Open, Duplicate, or Delete it.

Good to know

  • Version history is saved on the backend every time you save (so restoring a prior version is technically possible), but there is currently no button or screen in the editor to browse or restore a past version — this exists server-side only.
  • Importing an existing resume file is fully built on the backend (PDF/DOCX/TXT parsing with a queued job) but isn't reachable from anywhere in the app UI yet — no upload button exists outside of a narrow flow inside onboarding's "Import" path.
