ATS Checker

A real, mostly-deterministic score for how well your resume survives an applicant tracking system.

The ATS tab runs 8 deterministic checks (contact info present, date consistency, no layout tables, page length, quantified achievements present, recognizable section headings, single-column layout, and text extractability) plus one AI-assisted readability pass, then rolls everything into 5 category scores — Content, ATS Compatibility, Impact, Readability, and Completeness — each 0–100, averaged unweighted into an overall score.

When you'd use this

Checking a resume before submitting it to a job application that mentions it goes through an ATS.
Catching missing contact information, inconsistent dates, or unquantified bullet points before a recruiter (or a bot) does.
Verifying that a template you like isn't secretly working against you (e.g. a two-column layout scrambling parse order).
Jumping straight from a flagged issue into an AI rewrite that addresses it.

How it works

    Run the check

    Open the "ATS" tab in the editor's right-hand panel and click "Run ATS check."

    Read the score breakdown

    You'll see an overall score plus five category bars: Content, ATS Compatibility, Impact, Readability, and Completeness.

    Review flagged issues

    Issues are grouped by severity — critical, important, and suggestion — so you know what to fix first.

    Fix an issue with AI

    Select the resume entry the issue relates to, then click "Fix with AI" on that issue — this routes straight into the AI panel's ATS-friendly rewrite action for that entry.

Good to know

  • The overall score is an unweighted average across five categories — the app is upfront that this is "a judgment call, not universal truth," not an industry-standard ATS score.
  • "Fix with AI" requires you to have the relevant entry selected first — it'll warn you if nothing's selected rather than guessing which entry an issue applies to.
