Career Profile

Your reusable source of truth — enter it once, use it on every resume.

Career Profile holds seven kinds of facts about your career: experiences, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages, and a freeform "custom items" bucket. Any resume entry can link back to one of these facts; at render time, the linked fact's fields are used as a base and anything you've overridden on that specific resume entry takes priority. Marking an item "private" doesn't stop it from being used on a resume — linking it there is itself how you choose to include it.

When you'd use this

Entering your work history once and reusing it across every resume you create, instead of retyping it each time.
Keeping a private note or detail in your profile that you only surface on the resumes where it's relevant.
Running a quick sanity check on your career history before you start applying — catching an unnoticed employment gap or an accidental duplicate entry.
Building up a running list of skills, certifications, and projects as you complete them, ready to pull into a resume later.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add an item

On the Career Profile page, click "+ Add" under any category (Experience, Education, Skills, Projects, Certifications, Languages, or Custom Items). This creates a placeholder row immediately.

  2. 2

    Fill in the details

Each type has its own fields — for example Experience takes employer, title, location, start/end dates, current-role flag, description, and achievements; Skills take a name, category, and proficiency level.

  3. 3

    Mark items private if needed

A "private" badge appears on any item flagged that way — private items still exist in your profile and can still be linked into a resume when you choose to.

  4. 4

    Run a quality check

Trigger the profile quality check to get a deterministic (no AI involved) scan for missing start/end dates, gaps of more than 60 days between consecutive roles, and possible duplicate experiences.

  5. 5

    Link facts into a resume

When adding or editing a resume entry, choose to base it on a Career Profile fact rather than entering it from scratch — the resume will then track that fact automatically for any field you don't explicitly override.

Good to know

  • Editing an item beyond the initial Add is more limited here than on a resume — the Career Profile page currently supports adding and deleting items, without a fuller per-type edit form for every field yet.
