AI Assistant
AI drafts and rewrites — you always review and approve before anything is saved.
The AI panel lives in the resume editor and has four tabs: Rewrite, Achievements, Skills, and Tailor. Every single AI action in the app — no exceptions — goes through the same review step: the AI proposes a suggestion, and nothing is written to your resume or profile until you explicitly Accept it (optionally editing it first). Rejecting a suggestion is a true dead end by design — it has zero side effects, so you can experiment freely without any risk to your actual content.
When you'd use this
How it works
- 1
Rewrite a bullet or summary
Select an entry, open the AI panel's "Rewrite" tab, and choose one of 7 actions: Improve, Shorten, Expand, More Professional, More Concise, ATS-Friendly, or Fix Grammar. The same tab handles your resume's summary paragraph with an optional tone field.
- 2
Mine achievements
On the "Achievements" tab, type a free-text description of what you did and optionally fill in metrics (team size, revenue impact, cost saved, time saved, volume handled, performance improvement). Click "Mine achievements" — the AI proposes bullets grounded only in what you actually typed in, not invented details.
- 3
Get skill suggestions
On the "Skills" tab, click "Suggest skills." Each suggestion appears with its own Confirm/Dismiss controls.
- 4
Tailor to a job
On the "Tailor" tab, pick or create a saved job. Clicking "Tailor resume" clones your resume (titled "<name> (Tailored)") and proposes rewrites against the clone only — your original resume is never modified. A link takes you straight to the new tailored copy.
- 5
Review every suggestion
Every proposal — from any of the four tabs — shows up with three buttons: Reject, Edit, and Accept. Edit lets you tweak the AI's wording before it's saved; Accept saves it as-is; Reject discards it with no trace left on your content.
Good to know
- AI actions are limited to 20 requests per minute per account, shared across AI rewrites, achievement mining, skills suggestions, job tailoring, cover letter generation, and exports.
- AI responses currently come from a mock mode, not a live model — the app's AI plumbing (review flow, suggestion tracking, rate limiting) is fully real and working end-to-end, but the actual generated text is placeholder content until the AI Gateway is switched out of mock mode.
