Getting Started

The guided setup wizard and your Dashboard.

Every new account lands on the Dashboard, which surfaces three quick actions (Start guided setup, My Resumes, Career Profile) and up to four of your most recent resumes. "Start guided setup" is a real 5-step wizard — not a form — that adapts its final step to what you actually came here to do, and can be skipped at any point.

When you'd use this

You just signed up and want the fastest path to a finished resume.
You already have a resume elsewhere and want to import it instead of starting from a blank page.
You have a specific job posting in hand and want to build a resume tailored to it from the start.
You want AI to draft the first version for you rather than filling in every field yourself.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose your goal

    Step 1 asks what you're here to do: Create from scratch, Import an existing resume, Tailor for a job, or Build with AI. This choice determines what the final step of the wizard does.

  2. 2

    Target market & language

    Step 2 asks your target market (US/UK/Canada/Australia/Other) and language (English/Spanish/French/German/Other). Currently informational only — it isn't wired to any formatting or localization behavior yet.

  3. 3

    Target role (optional)

    Step 3 lets you enter a target role and pick an industry from a dropdown (Technology, Finance, Healthcare, Education, Marketing, Design, Operations, Other). Fully optional — skip it if you don't have a specific role in mind yet.

  4. 4

    Quick career profile

    Step 4 collects your first name, last name, and a one-line headline, and saves them straight to your Career Profile.

  5. 5

    Finish, based on your goal

    Step 5 branches by your Step 1 choice: "Create from scratch" opens the template gallery; "Tailor for a job" takes you to the Job Workspace; "Build with AI" creates a blank resume and opens it directly in the editor; "Import" shows an inline upload field.

Good to know

  • You can click "Skip setup" from any step to jump straight to the finish screen.
  • Target market/language (Step 2) don't currently change anything else in the app — they're captured but not yet acted on.
